In October 2007 and again in June 2009, the
WW were involved in the Great Train Robbery Dinner
Theater held in Campo. Some of the ladies were
involved in the actual robbing of the train, while others
were staged actors on board performing skits for the passengers.
The Widows have many other community events
throughout the year that they are invited to participate
in. Events such as private parties, rodeos, skits, jail
and bails, hosting, and lending atmosphere to public events.
For years, the Widows hosted an annual Pancake Breakfast that drew hundreds of hungry patrons to dish up a dose of Western Hospitality. Held in April in Lakeside at the VFW, it was successful for a number of years. Although the event has been put on temporary hold, it may re-surface again in the future.
Celebrating a Milestone
The Winchester Widows celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2007. With a dinner and award ceremony, followed by games and prizes,
the ladies partied into the evening. Although it was an event that was only open to WW and guests, it marked an important
milestone in Widow history.
Trail riding is a popular pastime when there are no parades. The women try to get together as often as they can for a little R&R.
